At Daylesford Academy, we are committed to preparing our students for successful futures beyond the classroom and we believe that every student can achieve their potential. 

Whilst at Daylesford Academy, All students will participate in our careers programme which is differentiated to meet the needs of all our students.  Our comprehensive careers programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to make informed decisions about their post-16 pathways.​

Our Approach

We align our careers education with the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring a structured and effective framework for career development. Our intent is to develop responsible, respectful and confident individuals who will provide a positive contribution to society in life after Daylesford Academy. Our careers curriculum exposes learners to local, national and global markets, and meaningful encounters that build employability skills to aid successful transitions into positive destinations.

Our programme includes:​

• Personalised Guidance: Tailored support to meet individual student needs.

• Employer Engagement: Opportunities to interact with local businesses and understand various industries.

• Workplace Experiences: Visits and placements that provide real-world insights.

• Information on Post-16 Options: Comprehensive advice on further education, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.​

Our careers programme is led by Mrs. Nicola Capok, who provides strategic oversight, and Ms. Becky Langley, our designated Careers Lead. They are supported by a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality careers education.​

How do we know we are doing ok?

The 8 Gatsby Benchmarks play a key role in young people’s aspirations and promoting their success in their Career Pathway.  The Gatsby Benchmarks are a statutory requirement for all schools to work toward.  At Daylesford Academy  we have gained 100% achievement in 8 of the Gatsby Benchmarks.
